Sybarite Monoglam Glamour

I thought it would be fun to take a photo of all my Monoglam collection items but mix them up a little bit! So, we have (from left to right) my Monoglam dolls, Lawn and Meadow, plus Gateau modeling Lawn's fashion, Sloane modeling Sour Pea, Lawn waring the outfit from Cadenza, Meadow wearing Flutterby and Onyx wearing dandylion. Love the candy colors, even if it is now time to start redressing for the holidays!! ;-)

New Numina Release for December: Ajuma "Stratus"

Hi everyone,

It is funny how many doll companies seem to cramp their final releases into the days just before Christmas! And of course, so many are gorgeous. I think all my family will have to be content with handmade presents- and I am unfortunately not very crafty, lol!

The final Numina release is an Ajuma sculpt in the dark tan skin tone (like my OOAK Devon, Cerise who has been featured on this blog). She is called Stratus, has an edition of 50 and is released on Paul's homepage on December 7th. Good luck everybody!

OOAK Numina Devon Cerise: Retro futuristic Space Girl

Doesn't everybody kind of miss the time when movie creators and pulp authors made us believe that cat suits, overknee boots and a giant visor were exactly the right outfit for traveling into deep space? ;-)

Sybarite Gateau "Lacy"

Here is beautiful Gateau modeling the lovely fashion from Sybarite Lawn! I think she looks like a real Monoglam girl ;-)
At least here is one new photo that I could snap in my appartment which looks like a giant doll warehouse at the moment since I have so little time to spend with anything bdesides work...

Emiliacouture Inamorata new releases: Basic doll "Cherub" and Vertebrata gowns

Hi everybody,

Due to my work, it is becoming harder and harder to keep up to date with new releases and also with my own new arrivals but I hope that nobody missed the fabulous second releases from Emilia's Inamorta line.
This release marks the debut of the line production of the Nnaji sculpt, previously used for OOAK releases. This basic doll is called Cherub with a limited edition of 20 (sold out as I type this).

Please note all photos in this post are Emilia's own promotional images. Visit her flickr page http://www.flickr.com/photos/emiliacouture/ to see these any many more in better size and resolution!

Next, there is a fabulous gown called Vetretbrata in two color variations: Nude in a LE of 10 (sold out as I type this) and Dust, LE 20, which still has a few available as I type this. You can see "Nude" on the left and "Dust" on the right in the following image:

The name of the gown comes from a metal embellishment on the back of the gown which is indeed a vertebrata. I think this idea is really fabulous, very sensual and still edgy.

Congratulations on this fabulous and successful new release, Emilia!!

Numina Ajuma wearing Cho:lo's OOAK "Prerna"

The always fab Ajuma is modeling a OOAK design from the outrageously talened doll philippino couture maker Cho:lo- I am sure almost everyone is familiar with his work, but if not, you absolutely have to visit his flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/becholo/) and facebook pages!
Prerna is a hindi word for "inspired" and the name Cho:lo picked for this fashion since it is loosely based on a design by Alexander McQueen (whom we both idolize). I gave it the nickname "The Peacock queen" due to the ornaments in the wig and the long train-like shape of the dress.
Last but not least I really want to say it was wonderful to be in a commission project with Cholo. He is not only an extremely creative person who works in lightning speed but also just a very funny and great person to be in contact with. Thanks! :)

Sybarite Onyx wearing Dandylion from the Monoglam collection

Hi everyone,

I loved this outfit ever sicne I first saw it at the LA convention so it makes sense for me to pair it with our event doll, Onyx. I think this is a pretty fab outfit and I like especially how it combines the most different types of fabrics.

A lot of people have commented on the fact that the dolls and outfits from the Monoglam collection did not sell out in an instant.... I think these dolls just need some warming up fromt he side of some collectors who are more on the avant guard side of things in terms of fashion. Plus, there are more and more events where Superdoll appears and I think a lot of people are willing to cut back on regular collections to be able to attend an event with more limited dolls.
Finally, I think it is worth considering that these are not the first Syarites not to sell out in an instant... and some of the older dolls that did not move quickly and/or went on sale in the past are highly sought after now... for example, Eaton went on sale. Hard to imagine, eh?

Sybarite Lawn from the Monoglam collection

Here are some quick photos of my beautiful Lawn. She has a beautiful and very nicely done mohair wig like all dolls from this collection.

She has an Inque sculpt and a very beautiful caramel skin tone.

I must say I adore this collection... I really hope I can bring home a Velvet soon, too! ;-)

OOAK Numina Devon: Cerise

Hi everyone,

This year is the year that I decided to make some of my long held doll dream come true (not all unfortunately since I wanted to do it without robbing a bank- and there are some things that money cannot buy). One of these dreams is owning a OOAK Numina doll, hand painted and assembled by Paul Pham.
Please meet Cerise.... She has the special dark tan skin tone, one of the skin tones that have not been used on production dolls but only on OOAK projects. Her make up is inspired by cherry blossoms (pink and white) turning to full red fruits, like the red on her lips.
I really want to say that it is great fun to work on a OOAK project with Paul. He is just super creative and has at the same time a very good intuition on what doll would be just right for you- at least, I feel he created a doll that exactly matched what I was looking for even if I was not able to give him descriptions that were any more clear than what I just wrote above. Paul also went great lenghts to ensure that I could take my doll home in time after the LA Sybarite event, so that I could take her in my hand luggage.
Cerise walks a thin line between looking innocent and sultry perfectly in my opinion! In these pictures, she wears Numina boots and a Sybarite slip dress.

New Sybarite: Meadow, premiere for the new Monoglam collection

Hi everybody,

The rumors that I posted in my post about the IDC last month are true and here is Meadow, the first doll from the new collection, Monoglam.

I unfortunately do not have this doll in hand yet but here is a picture of her beautiful face and mohair wig (braided and put in an updo on the back).

One of the fascinating things I realized about her even if I can only look at other people's pictures and the photos which my boyfriend is taking for me of my doll (he took the pictures you see in this blog post) is the painting of her finger nails.

Only on her left ring finger, she does not have red nail polish but silver or golden one... I wonder, could it mean that she is enganged to be married? ;-) I guess Charles and Desmand from Superdoll are taken, so I wonder who her sweetheart is... or maybe a star crossed love? ;-)

Fashion Royalty Exclusive dolls for the IFDC Las Vegas 2013

 Hi everybody,

This year's IFDC had a horror theme and Integrity designed three exclusive dolls to go with it. It seems like three dolls are the new standard for this event... I think it used to be one. Every now and then I wonder if doll makers make a particularly good margin on event dolls since it seems that there are more and more events with more and more dolls per event.

All these dolls are limited to 300 pieces.

The first one uses the Anja scult and is called Glam Vamp. I am not a big fan of this sculpt but this doll looks fine actually. Just not so special or exciting that I'd hunt one down on the seconary market.
This doll is called Dark Fable and uses the Imogen sculpt. I must confess that I just find this doll very tacky from head to toe. The hairstyle, the mixed color in the hair, the outfit, everything.

The final doll is my favorite. She uses the the first Tatiana sculpt which I think is completely gorgeous. The doll is too literal for me in the horror theme but the sculpt is just so great so I wouldn't mind winning one in the W Club Lottery.

Sybarite Gateau: Portrait of a lady

Just a portrait I took of the beautiful Paris Fashion Doll Festival event doll from this year, Gateau, wearing the event gown Eau d'Hong and the necklace from Glistening Bandeaus, all by Superdoll London.

Dusted Red - Sybarite Cadenza

Hi everyone,

Finally, one of my own pictures to be shared on this blog again! :-) I really hope I will have more time for photographing and editing soon- It is actually a wonderful counterweight for work to be able to do something creative in my hobby but lately I have been working so much that I just didn't get around it, sadly.

This is Sybarite Cadenza who I think should be more popular than she is, wearing the gown from Sybarite The Cross. I wonder what happened to Cadenza's popularity that seemed to be high when her first promotional images were released. The Voltair sculpt does have rather large lips which are not for everyone but then again, you could see this coming since the sculpt had been established for a while. Hmmm.... luckily I also have love for dolls which are not "holy grails" ;-)

Teaser of upcoming Inamorata dolls: Nnaji "Cherub" and "Seraph"

Hi everyboday!

After missing out on Inro, I was really happy to receive this teaser of two extremely beautiful Inamorata dolls that will be released soon. They will mark the first release with the eagerly awaited Nnaji sculpt.

Emilia decided not to do another doll with an edition of 40 but two editions of 20 dolls, both Lingerie dolls, but Cherub will be more basic with basic lingerie and flocked hair instead of a wig. Seraph will come with very elaborate lingerie (I think I remember Emilia once hinting she will come with sexy boots too!) and a high quality wig like Inro did. The price point of these dolls will differ based on what they come with.

I was initially planning to treat myself to the more elaborate version of Nnaji but I must say I love Seraph's face up so much, so I will try for her.
In addition, at the same time as Seraph and Cherub one outfit will be released with each doll. They will have an edition of 30 but nothing else is known about them except the names: with Cherub there will be a gown on sale called Vertebrata and at the same time as Seraph, there will be a casual fashion called Röntgen.

These news got me really excited! As you know I own some repaints and fashions by Emilia and cannot wait to have her first fully self created product in hand.

Italian Doll Convention (IDC) / Possibly upcoming sybarite and exclusive Sybarite doll, Seance

Hi everyone,

The IDC took place last weekend in Milan, Italy, and I must say even though conventions are still a very new thing for me (convention number two for me was this year's Paris Fashion doll festival) I definitely feel like including this event in my travel list for next year. It seems like a very well organized event with a wide range of dolls being featured and most importantly for me, Superdoll really had fantastic offerings both last year (exclusive doll Poltergeist, exclusive Salon fashions, raffle for a LE 2 table centerpiece doll names Velvet, Preview of "Domina") and this year.

I think some people did not go for the same reason as me, which is that the organizers were not able to confirm whether or not Superdoll was going to participate until pretty late when people already got into trouble with reserving spots for the convention and planning days off.

Anyway, I guess mistakes are there to learn from them and this year, there was an exclusive gown which looks like a very chic brocade-style fabric number"folded" in the front (no picture to share here, sorry) as well as a LE 2 doll as table centerpiece again (red, short curly hair with a green gown decorated with sequins and chains, called Alora- no picture either, sorry, I hope I'll be able to share one soon).

There are pictures however of the beautiful exclusive doll called Seance. I am not 100% sure but the LE is supposed to be 20 and I hear there was no mad fight for the dolls. If this is true, it's another very good reason to go next year (unless so many people decide to go that the situation changes drastically). I like her but not so much that I have to hunt her down on the secondary market. here are some links:

http://dollobservers.com/photo/seance-idc-2013-exclusive-close-up?context=album&albumId=5159573%3AAlbum%3A162475

Finally, a special highlight was the opportunity to preview four prototypes (or, as I heard, three prototypes and a production model) of the upcoming Sybarite collection. From what I heard, there were four dolls in green, yelloe, pink and blue with Mohair wigs and themes inspired by the last Chalk White doll collection. Apparently the doll observers page was the only one allowed to take pictures of one of these dolls, she is suppsoed to be the production model for the next upcoming doll in June 2013, but I'm not responsible for spreading false rumours here, ok? ;-)

W Club Exclusive Victoire Roux doll for 2013: Monte Carlo

So, this is the second of the five W club exclusive dolls for 2013 (the first was Poppy Parker). I think I would really have liked this doll if she did not have these funny ruffles on her skirt (too much happening on this skirt for my taste) and no blue eyeshadow. I think blue eyeshadow can work in a few cases bust mostly, it just doesn't.
I really like her red hair and the screening on this doll looks very sassy. I also like the beauty mark and the fact that she comes with such a dramatic coat and a martini glass (not in these pictures). But for now, she is not enough to get my off my fixation on 16" dolls ;)
The following two photos are not my own photos but the official promotional images by Integrity Toys

Some beauty shots for Numina Ajuma

Hi everyone,

I am hoping to practice my skills in photographing Ajuma by practicing ;) Here are some photos I took of her recently in assortments of Sybarite clothing and wigs. Unfortunately I still have the feeling she is so much prettier in person....
